It was built for the campus net-radio of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon. The tough requirements included: accepting user requests, handling remote files and play lists, scheduling special programs, mixing jingles in the stream, interacting with the website or an IRC bot, etc. The special thing of Liquidsoap is that instead of building an ad-hoc solution for that single net-radio, it was developed as a flexible tool with which you can combine as you like the features that you want. Hence, it has then been used successfully for several other net-radios, for which the usual streaming tools weren?t enough. http://debaday.debian.net/2007/08/05/liquidsoap-a-versatile-icecast-source-client-and-much-more/ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFGtvXp5eHZJdBB94cRAgCMAKCp6AXeJBPVFPrhD2wVgDM2wxkNRQCgzWZH vo+RwsMLwUcgAStNA9ZQPfI= =hOZB -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- From fabo a anche.no Tue Aug 28 20:23:01 2007 From: fabo a anche.no (faboski hustuniu) Date: Tue, 28 Aug 2007 20:23:01 +0200 Subject: [Radiofranca] Campcaster Message-ID: <20070828202301.373b9166@marco-desktop> *Campcaster* A free and open source automation system for radio stations Campcaster is an open source radio management application for use by both small and large radio stations (yes, real radio stations, not internet radio) to schedule radio shows. It provides both live studio broadcast capabilities via a desktop application called Campcaster Studio as well as remote automation via the Campcaster Web interface. Campcaster has networking components that make it easy for affliated stations to share their content with each other, either over the Internet, or by exporting content to removable media for ground transport. This latter method is necessary in many places where there may be little or no Internet connectivity. You can create mashups with other applications using Campcaster's XMLRPC interface, which is supported for the audio storage module and the scheduler. Campcaster runs only on Linux. http://www.campware.org/en/camp/campcaster_news/
